Bert Boerman

Bert Boerman has an extensive background in banking and financial services. After starting to work for ABN AMRO Bank in 1999, he worked in a number of positions in the Netherlands and Luxembourg, serving corporate clients. In 2002 he settled in Luxembourg. After tripling his client portfolios in 2005 and 2006 the bank invited him to set up a private banking department, which turned into one of the main drivers for profit in the years following the setup. In 2009 he handed over to a successor and subsequently launched 3 new business activities in luxembourg: Services to Independent Asset Managers, Corporate and Institutional banking, and custody services to alternative investment funds (Private Equity funds, Real Estate funds, Hedge funds, Life settlement funds etc). These business are now all 3 growing at rates between 100% and 300% per year, and provide a new strategic focus for the bank.

An important part of the successes over the years was to keep an open pragmatic mindset to each challenge faced, and to use smart IT solutions in an environment that is typically not on the cutting edge (banking). These solutions, together with a primary focus on customer excellence, provided the competitive advantage over competitors.

Bert is married and has 2 children. He is a sport fanatic, who plays Capoeira, Waterski, Wakeboarding, Squash and Golf (in addition to barbies and hot wheels with the kids) whenever he can.
